Bad Breath Natural Remedy: Is there one?

When someone is told that they have bad breath, their first reaction is usually anger. They can’t believe that someone could be so rude as to say such a thing. They may then go into complete denial. Surely, someone was just playing a trick on them or just trying to be cruel? Then comes the realisation that it is quite possible that they do have bad breath and they start looking for a bad breath natural remedy.

Even if you brush your teeth several times a day and floss every night, there is still a possibility that you will have bad breath. Almost one out of every three Americans has a serious problem with bad breath, but it is not always as a result of poor dental hygiene. In fact, most chronic bad breath has nothing to do with your teeth at all!

The most common, and probably the oldest bad breath natural remedy is baking soda. Used as a “cure all” by families for over a century, it was used to sanitize and scrub the teeth. Although it did, in many instances, take the odor away (after all, doesn’t it take the odor away from our stinky refrigerators?), it also managed to scrape the enamel off of our teeth! Baking soda toothpastes work in much the same way and should be avoided for the same reason.

However, even the best cleaning job will still leave some people with an offensive breath, quite simply because the breath is coming from inside the body.  Under certain conditions foul air inside your stomach can be released into the blood stream and into the lungs and permeates the breath.

If you are troubled with halitosis and are confident that the cause is not ineffective dental hygiene or a disorder such as periodontitis you would be wise to consult your doctor.
